Welcome!

Welcome to my blog, these are the ramblings and musings of an (upper) middle aged biker and if you enjoy braais, (barbeques) beers and motorbikes then hopefully you will enjoy what Janet and I do; we do lots of braais, we drink lots of beer and we tour South Africa on our motorbike, which at the moment is a BMW R1200RT. Join us, read about what we do and please leave us your comments.

Busy biking calendar as the weather improves

We have had a busy biking weekend, the weather is improving - actually Saturday and Sunday were very hot so now the biking calendar becomes very crowded. On Saturday we attended the Clique mcc "Wheels of steel" dayjol in nearby Velddrif. I am waiting for people to post more photos online that I can use before I post a story.
Meanwhile on Sunday members of the Meeulanders were hosted to a lovely buffet breakfast at one of our favourite local spots, Juffroushoogte by the local chapter of the Round Table for the official handover of the tins and non perishable food that we had collected.
It was a very pleasant morning out, the Round Table people are a great bunch and help us out with distribution every year. Thanks for the breakfast guys it was great!

While we wait for those photos from the Clique dayjol I thought I would post some photos taken by Michelle Liebenberg from the Clique Capetown chapter, of the 911 ride; Bikers unite for rural safety and security ride, she takes excellent photos and we were happy to get these;
Me turning out of the car park at the start of the run, it's always great to get a photo of yourself taken by someone else isn't it? I normally take photos for the blog so I'm rarely in them.
Meeulanders Sampie and Kathy
Meeulanders Metjie and Adrie

Meeulanders Hein and Gerda
Meeulanders Daan and Bev

I like this one, part of the mass ride taken from an overhead bridge with the big red machine in the centre, thanks Michelle, looking forward to some more of your photos.
Stay safe everyone, keep the shiny side up. (Click on the pictures to see them full size).
